How Can You Help?
Give your time. Volunteers are an important and required part of our team. Volunteers can perform many duties such as office work; visiting with patients to read, share stories, watch a movie; make phone calls to check on family members in midst of their grief; help with community events, or volunteer with us and share ideas you may have.
You must be 18 with a valid driver's license, car insurance, and be able to pass a background check per Medicare laws to be a Hospice volunteer.
Give financial assistance. Donations are important too. Your tax deductible donation is used to provide end of life care for patients who do not have a pay source. Medicaid does not pay for hospice, and very few private insurances pay. Your donations help cover the cost of providing medication, equipment, supplies and staff availability. You can also donate an in-kind donation of frequently used supplies such as adult briefs, bed pads, personal cleaning wipes, gloves, sheets, and equipment. These are also tax deductible.
